Hello and welcome to my corner of the web. My name is Hisham Khalid Abbas, and I was born and raised in Iraq. Over the years, I’ve dedicated my career to building expertise in governance, risk management, compliance, and fighting financial crime.

Where I Am Today

I currently serve as the CEO of Bayt Al-Hikma for Training and Consulting, a role that allows me to share knowledge and mentor professionals across the region. Alongside this, I chair the Iraq branch of the Global Academy of Finance and Management and lead the Iraq Regional Group of the Institute of Risk Management (UK).

I also enjoy contributing to thought leadership as the Editor-in-Chief of the Banking & Finance Professionals Magazine, and I’m proud to advise institutions such as the Technical Administrative College (Middle Technical University) and the Prime Minister’s Competition Affairs Council.

My Vision

I’m passionate about empowering young professionals, strengthening governance in financial institutions, and promoting ethical practices in business. My work is not just about compliance — it’s about building trust and creating opportunities for the next generation.
